Innovations in the field of public health are the need of the hour, particularly in low resource settings such as in India, opines doctors. Keeping this in view, the department of community medicine at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, is hosting a National Conference on “Innovative Approaches in Public Health” from November 18 to 20 under the stewardship of Air Cmde Sandip Mukherji, Professor and Head.
Maj Gen AK Das, Dean and Officiating Commandant of AFMC will inaugurate the conference on November 18 at Bharadwaja Auditorium of the college. Dr Sunder Lal, Former Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, will deliver the key note address on “Public Health: The Way Forward”.
Nearly 250 delegates will participate in the three-day conference, which will provide a platform for armed forces community medicine specialists, medical officers of the three services and delegates from local medical colleges to have an insight into the latest issues and innovative solutions concerning preventive and primitive health care in India.
