Akiva Superfoods Raies $2M in Series A Funding

Roughly $2 million has been raised by a Gurugram-based startup Akiva Superfoods that provides health and wellness food products.

The funding for the Series A was led by Alkemi Venture Partners, a venture capital company founded in 2016 based in New Delhi.

Previous investors of the company include co-founder of Zomato Pankaj Chaddah; co-founder of MindTickle Mohit Garg; CEO of Max Healthcare Rajit Mehta; CEO of OYO New Real Estate Rohit Kapoor; present and former McKinsey & Co partners; and prominent PE investors.

The funding would be used to expand the existing portfolio.

Shalabh Gupta, founder and CEO of Akiva Superfoods said, “Our ultimate goal is to be an innovative and interesting independent FMCG firm, capable of exponentially scale across Tier 1 and Tier 2 towns over the next five years.”

“Akiva Superfoods is data-rich, close to its clients and utilizes significant ideas to create products to scale with solid direct-to-consumer, eCommerce and contemporary business channels. This is in line with Alkemi’s mission of raising people’s health and well-being around the globe, and we are confident that this funding round will propel the organization to deliver real value,”said a spokesman from Alkemi.
