Aster Prime Hospital felicitates 3 Unsung Heroes from Hyderabad

Felicitation done as part of Aster@30 initiative

Hyderabad based Aster Prime Hospital felicitated 3 unsung heroes from Hyderabad today for their relentless social work in different fields. This felicitation was done as part of Aster@30 initiative by Aster Prime Hospital.  People felicitated today are Mr. Goutham Kumar, Founder – Serve Needy Social Service Organization, Ms. Manjula Pallipoyena, Director – Volunteering and projects at TEN – Betzedek and Mr. Venkat Naik, Founder of Public Health Society and Waste Warrior.

Mr. Goutham Kumar and his Serve Needy Organization is committed to the society by making a sustainable difference in life of the underprivileged. Their aim is to make India a Hunger Free and Orphan- less Country. Serve Needy has been executing 14 impactful social service initiatives (ORPHANAGE HOME, SAVE A LIFE, DAILY ANNA DAATHA,MEDICAL MOBILE SERVICE / LAST RITES,TRANSFORMATIONS,FIGHT AGAINST CANCER,HELPING GOVT SCHOOLS,FREE MEDICAL HELP TO POOR,PETS RESCUE AND REHABILITATION,SPREADING SMILES,LOVE & WARMTH, BAL SIKSHA, SWACHH BHARATH, FIXING POTHOLES)for poor and needy in Hyderabad city for the past 3 years. They have been serving various destitute homes in Hyderabad and surrounding areas like feeding food under Annadaatha project, performing last rites to Orphans. This year Serve Needy has been feeding around 1000 hungry people every day under Annadaatha project. Mr. Goutham Kumar with his NGO extended services to many poor and needy by providing them permanent shelter, providing food, medical support as well as providing them employment by giving them raw material to do homemade house hold items, clothes stitching, handicrafts…etc.

Ms. Manjula Pallipoyena is a social development professional, active in this field for the last 17 years. , she is working as Director – Volunteering and projects at TEN – Betzedek an International NGO. Her work involves organizing learning opportunities for young volunteers through local government and city based NGOs for initiatives in the sectors of education, health and livelihoods. Manjula initiated Goodwill Store in Hyderabad where poor, poorest and low income groups shop with dignity to address the right to basic needs of poor. This initiative has been appreciated nationwide.

Mr. Venkat Naik, is an Eco Warrior, working as a Health & Sanitation- coordinator, Secunderabad- GHMC. He is the founder of of Public Health Society and Waste Warrior. He has planted 10,000 trees and has conducted several awareness programmes on environmental protection and waste management in 100 schools & colleges and formed nearly 50 SELF HELP GROUPS. He is working towards Clean and Green India- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Aster@30 Initiative & Aster Volunteers

Aster Group on the occasion of 30th Anniversary has extended this opportunity to citizens across the globe who would like to serve people within their capacity. Aster Volunteers is a healthcare and wellness initiative that focuses on spreading hope and inspiring people to look out for each other. All you need is some time on hand and the urge to do something good in your heart, so that you can be there to those in need. So far, over 6000 people across the globe have enrolled and many people have received help. Many people could join hands and serve as many in need. There is no better way to give back to the society.”

 ‘Aster Volunteers’ program, a platform for people who wish to do something positively impact change and serve the society – medically and non – medically. As part of Aster@30 Initiative, the group provided Basic Life Support (BLS) Trainings in communities and various groups of society, free surgeries, MRI scans and free investigations, treatments to BPL sections of the society.  The group also recruited differently- abled individuals across various verticals and geographies and felicitated Unsung Heroes at all Units of the Group.
