Emergency Careteams from the hospital provided medical aid and medicines to those trapped in the deluge, on-road and within homes for those who couldn’t venture out

Fortis Hospital, Mulund dispatched two ambulances manned by two doctors and four nurses, each, to various traffic junctions and housing societies, to help Mumbaikar’s in need of medical aid. Elderly and home-bound residents from societies across Mulund, Bhandup and Ghatkoparwere visited by medical staff from the hospital and were provided treatment at no cost. They were also provided a full course of medication free of cost.

The ambulances were efficiently manned by Dr Ravindra Sawant and Dr Vivek Solapure, Emergency Consultant at Fortis Mulund. Moving across vantage points in the peripheral areas, in a bid to serve the society, over a hundred Mumbaikar’s were attended to in the past two days.

Speaking about this, Dr S. Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Mulund, who supported the initiative said, “Over the last two days, we have seen havoc, dismay and unnatural misfortune; however as healthcare providers we stood strongly by our fellow Mumbaikars, providing essential medical aid. Our ambulances moved across the peripheral areas, helping the pedestrians, motorists, home-bound citizens and those trapped in the deluge. Given the exposure to contaminated water, infections may arise and we urge people to visit their doctors to get diagnosed and treated appropriately. Do not self-medicate”.
