Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Niti Bagh organized “Cancer Awareness & Screening Camp” on 4th February, 2018, to raise awareness about the possibilities of cancer among people in their Niti Bagh centre on World Cancer Day.
The free checkups of up to Rs 3,000 provided screening to every individual visiting the camp with a consultation and created awareness among the people about the symptoms of the disease. The screening included Clinical ENT/Oral Examination, Clinical Breast Examination, Pap smear and Mammography for the women above 40 years of age. Free consultation with Oncologist was also provided to those who needed it.
Present at the camp, Dr. Gauri Kapoor, Director Pediatric Hematology Oncology & Medical Director, RGCIRC, Niti Bagh shared- ‘It was enlightening to see so many people interested in getting educated more about the cancer and also getting themselves checked. It is important on our part to make more people aware about the symptoms or steps that need to be taken after getting detected. We advised every individual to get their body check-up done once in a year’.
The camp turned out to be a huge success with around 70 people from all over South Delhi coming to the Centre for getting themselves checked. Our expert doctors present at the camp educated the visitors about the possibilities and symptoms to look out for Cancer. They even spoke to them about the benefits of getting themselves checked from time to time for their own betterment.
