Devesh Singh, Founder and CEO, Crafting Innovation explains how his solutions can make the injection process more safe and reliable.
Kindly tell us about your products and how innovative they are?
We have two products but both are into different domains. One is a consumer product and the other product is for the healthcare sector, especially for the hospitals. The inspiration for the products came from the problems we have seen. One of the problems that we are trying to solve here is when you go for injection process, getting your veins for the injection has been a big challenge. Most of the time the veins are not visible maybe their skin type is different.
It leads to another problem that you go through– either multiple injections or the doctor ties your hand in a certain way and tries to find your vein. Or they call a senior nurse who has more expertise in the injection giving process. And that is precisely where our device comes to play. Our device is called a Vein detector which lets you see the veins on the surface and gives you at one shot precise time saving injection process.
Our device ensures that it is reliable, safe, and many a times we go to Hospitals where someone is not very experienced in giving the injection. This device ensures that even an amateur can give a precise injection in a short amount of time.
What are the risks for your company at this stage?
Risks are in various stages. The current stage is a very early stage and we see everyone exploring and we are getting a lot of opportunities. We do not call it a risk at this stage but at later stage definitely when there are giants who are bigger in the market and trying to develop a similar product. The risk right now is to develop very fast and ensure that the technology is advancing so that we are not left behind on that front.
What is your go-to-market strategy?
One of the market strategy we have is to make our Vein detector a consumer product rather than making it a hospital product. We want to release content on Internet and let people understand the importance of getting the right vein in the right amount of time. They should understand why multiple injections is a big issue. Once they understand this they are definitely going to reach out to Hospitals and ask for a device which is going to make their veins visible. That is when the doctor comes to the Internet and we ensure that we are the first one on the Internet because of all the reasons like better pricing, better device, better charge cycle and all of that.
How are you growing currently?
The market is growing very fast as the vein detector is a new and revolutionary product in the Indian market. There have been very few new players and we see by the end of this year we can close around 20,000-25,000 of pieces of vein detectors which seems pretty good at this stage.
What are your future funding goals?
We are a bootstrap company supported by our parent company and we are currently closed for funding. It is going to be a long and rough way but the team is inspired and motivated towards it. Until now it has been fine and we hope we go with our own funding.
What are your recent achievements?
We have been mentioned by a couple of the magazines. We are registered under NASSCOM and we are being incubated by NASSCOM. We have been recognised by the Government of India. We have won couple of competitors like Startup league, Bengalathon. We have also received grant from the Government of West Bengal to pass the stage of bootstrapping.
How does success look like to you?
Success for us is if our device serves the maximum number of people, and if it makes people comfortable when they go for the injection process.
