Garba event for Patients who have undergone Joint Replacement surgery

Patients who have undergone joint replacement surgeries in the recent past, took center stage at the “Garba” event organized at Kalidas Natya Mandir by Dr Tejas Upasani, Joint Replacement Surgeon in Mulund. Dr. Tejas Upasani, Joint Replacement Surgeon said, “In India, patients wait and watch till the arthritis reach a condition where they are bed-ridden. The joint pain patients spend a lot of time in taking decisions on their treatment modality. GARBA was done to create awareness among general population that even operated knee patients could lead an active and healthy lifestyle and do almost everything that a normal individual would want to do.”

Dr. Upasani also adds that these knees usually last for a lifetime if you take Care of them. It means doing regular muscle strengthening exercises, doing regular health check up for calcium, vitamin D3, Vitamin B12 and a bone density (DEXA) check up every 2 years to assess the quality of bones.
